At LiveXP, we strive to provide our users with the best possible experience when it comes to language learning. Part of ensuring this experience involves moderating tutor profiles to maintain quality and professionalism throughout the platform.

But what exactly is moderation, and when does it come into play?

What is Moderation?

Moderation, in essence, is the process of avoiding extremes and ensuring balance. When it comes to our platform, moderation of tutor profiles involves reviewing and adjusting profiles to meet our platform's requirements and standards.

This process helps us maintain a high level of professionalism and attractiveness for our users.

The Moderation Process

On LiveXP, the moderation process consists of two stages: pre-moderation and post-moderation.

All newly registered tutors must undergo pre-moderation after completing the onboarding wizard. Our moderation team will review their profiles, and tutors will receive updates about the status of their applications. This review period can take up to 3 days.

In addition, LiveXP also utilizes post-moderation, where profiles are reviewed even after they have been made visible to students. This dual approach ensures that tutors can start offering their services promptly while maintaining high-quality standards.

When Does Moderation Start?

Pre-moderation begins once a tutor has completed all the necessary steps to set up their profile. Once this is done, the application to become a tutor on LiveXP undergoes a review process by our moderation team to ensure it meets our platform's standards.

An application can be approved, rejected, or flagged for moderation to eliminate all discrepancies with our requirements and start teaching on LiveXP.

However, our commitment to maintaining quality extends beyond the initial registration process.

At any point, if we notice any changes to a tutor's profile that do not align with our platform's standards, we may reach out to address the issue promptly.

If a tutor's profile is flagged for moderation at any stage, they will receive an automated message from our Support team informing them of the situation, indicating particular areas of their profile that need to be reviewed and details about changes that need to be introduced. Additionally, tutors will see a "Profile needs updates" indicator on the Dashboard, signaling that their profile requires changes to align fully with our requirements.
