Learn when your tutor account is visible and why it may be hidden.

In this article, we will explain the different statuses of your account, why it might be visible or not, and how to ensure you're always ready for new bookings.

Account is visible

This status means students can find you in search results and book lessons with you. Things to do:

  • Regularly update your schedule to reflect when you're indeed available for lessons.

  • Stay active in the Community by actively engaging with learners from around the globe.

  • Respond to lesson bookings promptly to build a strong reputation.

Account is not visible

One of the following reasons applies:

  1. Initial application review ("Tutor profile submitted" status). If you have just submitted your tutor application, your profile will undergo a review process within 3 business days. During this time, your account won’t be visible to students, and you'll see a notification at the top of the page and on your Dashboard when you log into LiveXP.

  2. Under moderation ("Update profile" status). Moderation happens when there are some details in your profile that does not fully comply with our Profile Setup Requirements.
    If your profile is sent for moderation, it will be hidden from students until you make the requested changes, which will be detailed on your Dashboard.

  3. Hidden due to inactivity (not blocked). If you haven't read new messages for more than 24 hours, or your LiveXP profile hasn't been active for a long time, it becomes hidden to prevent students from booking with a tutor who might not be available.
    You are not blocked; once you log back in and read & reply to all messages, your profile will become visible again.

  4. Private lesson settings. Your account visibility can be affected by your personal settings:

    • Busy or Vacation Mode ("Busy mode" / "Vacation mode" statuses). If you’ve turned on either of these Modes, students will not see your profile. With Busy Mode, only old and current students can access you.

    • Schedule fully cleared ("Tutor profile hidden" status). If there is no availability set in your lesson schedule, your profile will be hidden until you make yourself available again.

  5. Mobile app not installed ("Tutor profile hidden" status). Our platform requires tutors to have the mobile app installed to ensure they can manage their bookings effectively and stay in touch with students. If the app is not installed or you are not logged in, your profile will be hidden until you download it back.

  6. Account blocked. In cases where there has been a violation of our Terms of Use, an account may be fully blocked. If your account is blocked, you will no longer have access to the platform, and your profile will be permanently hidden from students.


    By maintaining an active presence on the platform and ensuring your profile is complete, you can maximize your chances of being found by students and building a successful tutoring business!
